Founded in 1999, the Silat Association of The United Kingdom is a non profit making organisation established to promote and develop the study and practise of Silat within the UK. It is the first and only organisation to be officially registered within the UK and works to a written constitution set out in its official articles of association.

The organisation was established by UK Silat practitioners for the benefit and advancement of the art and its practitioners within the UK. It aims to:

 

1) Promote the spirit of unity and co-operation between members.
2) Develope an understanding of the art, within the Silat community and within the martial arts world.
3) Provide services and activities for the benefit of its members.

4) Organise intensive training camps and courses.
5) Develop a multi perguruan "SilatTeam" for demonstrations etc.

 

-The SAUK is organised in a traditional manner around the adab of Silat.

-Resolutions are taken by a Dewan Perguruan ( council of schools ) composed of members nominated by the member perguruan.

-Meetings are held quarterly with an Annual General meeting.

The organisation welcomes all perguruan and extends an open invitation to all interested.
